During 2017, Lorne Film's Kate Whitbread and Darren Markey began their collaboration on the supernatural, thriller, THE UNLIT.
Kate headed up the producing and directing of the film, with Darren writing the screenplay and acting as associate producer.
THE UNLIT commenced shooting on December 4, 2017 in Lorne - before moving on to Blackwood and winding up in Melbourne.
Lorne locations included the Lorne Pier, Allenvale Cottages (Quenton Young), the Swing Bridge Cafe (Jorgee Guerrero) and Mountjoy Parade - right above our great supporter Great Ocean Road Real Estate.
Shooting took place over 4 days initially - with the production returning in August 2018 to pick up additional scenes
THE UNLIT's unit base was kindly supplied by the Lorne Uniting Church (Pamela Plum), with support with meals and accomodation supplied by Great Ocean Road Real Estate (Ian Stewart), The Cumberland Resort (Lee Gordon), Chopstix, and Great Ocean Road Bakehouse.
As always - the people and businesses of Lorne were outstanding in their support for LORNE FILM and its aims.
THE UNLIT is currently in post-production and is due for release in mid 2019.
THE UNLIT is just the beginning. Stay tuned for news of further film production planned for Lorne and its environs.
